Gratifying

[jd] 24 July 2007

I am home digitizing high speed video today so Ty can go up to work and get some prep for the school year done. Cayden has been slowly drifting off to sleep in the lazyboy next to me. I got up to put on some diaper laundry, and caught his eye from across the room. He looked at me, gave me a huge smile, and closed his eyes.

Just out of curiosity - what is high speed video anyway? Do things happen faster just because you are recording at high speed?

matter of fact, yes they do.

just like if you happpen to drop something it falls faster if you know you drop it than if it just falls on its own.

technically it has to do with einstein's "frame dragging" postulate. a corollary of his gravitational assumptions.

You'll have to forgive my ignorance, but I thought it was Newton who first came up with some gravitational assumtions.....

ahh...Newton. you have an excellent point, Newton did come up with a number of important gravitational assumptions.

however, since high speed video hadn't been invented when Newton was around we can't expect there to be any footage of him.
